ASSEMBLIES
IF MAIN ASSEMBLY ITEM IS IN GOOD CONDITION AND WILL BE W STATUS
With sub assembly items they should never be inventoried as Y status
We either inventory the sub assembly item on its own as W status and have it inventoried/ separated as its own item when we dismantle car
or
we have it as sub assembly item that stays with main assembly until either it or main assembly items is sold
that way it is visible in stock for longer time

AFTERMARKET PARTS /NON FACTORY PARTS

Complete vehicle ,
This is not a part type as such ,its an area we use to show cars in stock
so input all as Y status ,select correct body style and engine type as required

Bootlid /Tailgate
If commercial car i.e ute/van - check the inside skin for damage and add description/image if required to show any damage
often things might move around and ding the inner skin

Bumpers
bumpers with stress fractures are no good. Bumpers with paint scratches in painted areas are ok to keep,bumpers with scratches in textured areas cannot be kept for trade customers.
we use damage chart to note where damage is and use credit card sizes to describe dings
note if bumper has tow bar cut out or not

Bumper Brackets
there are many extra IC lines for pinnacle sellers that sell new items , these are items we wouldnt sell as a used item
dont mark items that are priced less than minimum price and only mark items that are show as needed ( i.e have a number in the quantity column )

Catalytic Converter
due to scrap value we always remove these
If we require this item as W status part i.e we have demand higher than stock as per normal parts guides
the put in description "KEEP AS W STATUS "

COMPLETE INTERIOR Y STATUS
We may mark some items for EBAY as Y status i.e for interior kits as we judge that there is a possibility that item will sell on ebay but its not worth the cost of dismantling ,this would apply to items that take a long time to dismantle
If we sell it fine ,great, if we don’t then we haven’t wasted money in dismantling and storage
If we are Y status ebay make sure to properly inspect
If EBAY Y Status for complete interior
Make sure to fully inspect all areas of interior
Make sure we have images of
rear seats, one of each front seats, center console, all 4 door trims
write on roof above doors on both sides of car so dismantlers know when removing doors to take trim off and leave trims and inserts with interior
make sure item is priced correctly

NOTE:this Y status process for complete interiors applies for interiors that we aren’t confident of selling and thus investing time to dismantle and store ,if we are confident that we will sell (i.e commodore leather ) then we wont use this process we will dismantle as W status as normal and advertise on EBAY after dismantled

Core parts -Cat converters
Note these are all input as W status ,we remove them all despite pinnacle recommendations (WE CAN SELL ALL AS CORE )
If we need for stock and not just for Core then describe as "STOCK"

DOOR MIRRORS
we only sell complete but if that broken part can buy genuine then ok to keep
i.e
if mirror frame or glass broken we dont keep
if mirror blinker only broken then we keep

GRILLE
The bumper grille we would only W status is we have required need for it ( that is its showing as a quantity in the REQ column , not the requests column )

HEADLIGHTS/
–check if aftermarket or genuine by looking at brand of lens (i.e STANLEY KIOTO IS FACTORY )
Check for broken lugs if broken lugs note on the part-B/L (BROKEN LUGS ) ,its often economical to repair broken lugs just must have all parts so complete
Check lens condition ,if “milky” this requires polish which can be done

HEADLIGHTS –broken ones
Headlights are a popular item and as such we get these repaired sometimes ,IF
-all parts are there ,and repair can be done (complete and not smashed to bits ) ,and
-computer recommendation is W, and
-average price is more than $150 , and
If all 3 above meet then mark as W status ,items comment is “C-to be repaired broken “
All lights with any sort of marks/damaged should be noted as c grade ( apart from very light scratches which we wouldnt even note)

GUARD -With snorkel type (updated 250719 )
If guard is type with snorkel we wont keep guard at all ( its not factory and too many different snorkel hole shapes due to it being aftermarket )

GLASS- Body/Tailgate glass-glued in type ,
those that have to be professionally removed we do not mark as W status ,mark ALL as Y status

MAG WHEELS FACTORY
Factory mag wheel is input separately ,not as one complete set
If we are keeping some wheel of car and not all , specify to dismantler which wheel that we are removing
i.e RF (for right front ) W STATUS , LR W STATUS
( this would be the best condition - no scratches /best tyre tread)
that way car entry knows which ones to enter, sales which ones to sell and dismantler knows which ones to remove

Mag wheels Aftermarket
Forgot about any computer recommendations ,
if you think these will sell then mark as W status ,very often we sell these via EBAY
Aftermarket Mag Wheel ,these are input as complete set(we dont keep if not complete )

RADIO/SAT NAV UNIT
we need to power up to check/verify so we can sell ,if we cant power up then generally wont input ,if item has price of more $150 and cant power up check with manager .
if radio/cd /display units come in seperate pieces then all seperate pieces are input seperately

Radiator supports
weld on type radiator supports ,these are never marked as W status ,
Bolt on ones we follow screen recommendation,(bolt on radiator supports should have this shown in interchange description )

SEAT BELTS ,
If the air bag has deployed then check seat belt pre tensioner to see if they have deployed
We are most likely to keep RH Front seat belt assy only

SPOILERS
only input as W status if required as W status ,
many have higher minimum price as difficult to remove and may damage Bootlid/ tailgate when removed when removing spoiler
if tailgate is damaged and unsalable then we would be more likely to keep

SUN VISORS
We input LH and RH seperatly not as an assembly
If there is demand for the assembly we input either side ( this demand for assembly is just because we have usually in past input and sold as an assembly not individually

TAIL LIGHTS
these will often have minor scratches its ok not to note , customer can polish out

we are very unlikely to keep bar reflectors

dismantlers instructions
FOR ENGINE RUNNING may be :
(NOTE THIS IS WRITTEN ON CAR ENTRY FORM)
1.to run test (means start car and get to running temp ,check its ok )
2.to TK test (means start car and do tk test )
3.to compression test (means start car and do compression test and ntoe results on dismantle sheet )
Senior dismantler will test if (these tests are on time and additional to normal dismantling points )
4.To check for damage , (doesn’t mean test it means look closely for damage when dismantling )
Stick to these standard instructions and be clear about them
