COUNTER PICK PARTS TASK GUIDE FOR COUNTER SALES ( NON FORKLIFT ITEMS )

At times we will arrange for store staff to pick the parts off shelf for counter staff for counter sales made for pick up from the counter 


This allows the counter retail sales staff to stay at counter and serve customers 

At times store staff will be required to show/ bring parts to front for counter customers to check 

SET UP 
--Have communication device ( CB  radio or phone with you from start of shift , at end of shift charge this ) 
Make sure its on correct channel and volume at correct level ( tip: test it at start of day ) 

-Understand who is "primary pick person " and who is back up pick person (this will change for break times )

-person picking parts needs to know how to use parts washer

STEPS 
COUNTER STAFF
Once retail staff  have secured order they will communicate to store man staff for "COUNTER PICK " 
if multiple orders at once be clear as to which order is priority when messaging dispatch staff 

SHIPPING / DISPATCH STAFF
Store staff acknowledge this immediately so counter staff know that it is actioned 

If first priority person store staff unavailable then store staff communicate to back up person to pick part (not back to counter staff ) 
it is counter pick priority person responsibility to make sure back up person does the counter pick 

--As a KPI parts should be taken back to counter within 3-5 minutes ,

--If multiple parts to be picked at once then its likely primary counter pick person will ask back up person to assist

At times it will take longer and thats ok but store staff need to communicate this with counter staff 
i.e
ill just be a few more minutes - that way counter person can communicate with customer

Work order for counter picks will be on printer outside counter area 

pick parts as required 
if issues /delay communicate with counter and ask manager to assist 

Parts taken to counter should be clean and presentable 
If part is dirty and appropriate for parts cleaning then store man put in parts washer and advise counter staff that part is being washed , in this situation counter staff would collect part from washer after part is washed 

Once all done put your copy of work order on your points spike 

TIP: FOR EBAY ORDERS - We use print parts found - not work order - its same concept where person picking part is looking @ tag  number, location, part type
