For engines and boxes we also apply KM based
pricing (see separate article titled "SHAKEDOWN PRICING FOR ENGINES AND
TRANSMISSIONS (KM BASED)")
We need to ensure fresh high demand stock achieves the best return ,we use the returns from these items to ensure we can keep buying stock and to allow for discounting we do on other items
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
UNDERSTOCKED ITEMS
We need to increase the price of understocked "no discount" & "good price" items
We should be the highest competitively priced item on these ones
Example below: We are highest "competitively priced" @$450 on this understocked item (price range $250-$440), although other supplier is showing $550 this is way too high and not competitive
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PROCESS
WE EXPORT SHAKEDOWN LIST FROM PINNACLE TO EXCEL AS PER STEP 1
WE REMOVE COLUMNS AS PER STEP 1
WE REMOVE ITEMS WHERE DAYS IN STOCK IS MORE THAN 30 DAYS
WE REMOVE ITEMS THAT HAVE BEEN REPRICED IN LAST 90 DAYS (You will know this from the c,so remove each line )
We sort by price
All items above always check amount ( this is a dollar figure found in google docs document ) we will check the price
so copy these items into google spreadsheet
then go back to excel list and look at remaining items
sort by REC STATUS
we are only looking at items with rec status of
WAREHOUSE
YARD BOLTED
these are the high demand items
so copy these items into excel spreadsheet
add the extra 5 columns as per step 1
then start doing the pricing
REMEMBER WE ARE WANTING TO GET THE MAXIMUM RETURN WITH THESE ITEMS (NO USE BEING CRAZY ) but we want the max return to pay for the discounts from step 1
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Once working on a specific new part, assign to your own colour and type “IN PROGRESS dd/mm”
2. Once completed that specific new/old part, assign to Plat’s category with the date “TO CHECK dd/mm”
3. Once I have checked the prices, I will assign back into your category and put “CHECKED dd/mm”
4. Now you can add the required prices, and then follow the process to save to excel, send email to pricing@, fill in the completed date on the 'DONE FOR NEW PARTS' on the first sheet, and move the previous date into the 'PREV DATE NEW PARTS', and delete the tab off the pricing sheet.
