WHEN TO SEND AN INTERCHANGE REQUEST AND WHEN WE KEEP INFORMATION ONLY IN OUR IC NOTES - GUIDES FOR IC TEAMS

UPDATED MAY 2021
Sometimes when we research information we will send an interchange request to have full database updated and sometimes we will keep that information in our own notes only
it isn't a clear yes or no, its just things to consider when making that decision

JJ Auto parts operates in the Hollander/Pinnacle catalogue we also have additional notes that we add to our system

If we add information to our own system only as we research it
-it gives us competitive advantage as our competitors dont know that and wont be able to make customers confident to get correct part and may send customer incorrect part
- it justifies the expense that we invest in ourselves

--
If we ask Hollander to update the interchange for all
-it does make the system better for ourselves and for all

-----------------
GUIDES -to assist with decision as to when to send ic request and when to keep this information as "IC IS WRONG ... "
--If the system already has  75% plus of the options and we discover a new ic option then we would send interchange request in to have that new ic number/type added

If Current Pinnacle system has only 1 interchange option but we know that there is more than 1 then we wouldn't ask to get interchange updated we would just keep that information ourselves

i.e
in this example
we know steering column is tilt and non tilt type

we WONT send in the interchange request - we just add to user notes to show that ic is wrong
